the old police box by the glasgow botanic gardens. not sure whether this is exactly what the question implies but it was the first thing that popped into my head.
every time i walked past it on the way to university it broke my heart slightly because it just looks so abandoned and sad. personally i can’t help but think a Doctor far ahead in regenerations sacrifices himself to save a glaswegian companion by sending the TARDIS with them to safety with instructions to live well and make the most of life. at first they tried to care for it, make sure it wasn’t damaged or hurt in anyway but as they grew older it became harder and harder for them to do so. eventually even their children forgot, not sure what to make of their parent’s tales and thinking they were just fairy tales. so the TARDIS laid abandoned and forgotten, just waiting for someone to come and rescue it.
